Introducing Brut IPA (6.3% ABV, 15 IBU), the 16th release in our limited run, 174 Taproom Series.
Named in reference to Brut Champagne due to its extreme dryness, Brut IPA’s first made their mark in San Francisco a few years ago. They tend to have marked carbonation and a hazy appearance, with effervescent hoppy aromatics and low bitterness on the palate. As a relatively new and popular style, there is a high level of experimentation by brewers which yields a wide range of colours (SRM), alcohol levels (ABV), and hop additions.
Our version is brewed with Enigma and Galaxy hops, both Australian hop varietals, that deliver intense aromas and flavours of citrus, pine resin, light grape, mixed berries and melon. Pouring deep gold in colour with a rocky white head, this beauty is light in body with bright carbonation, low hop bitterness and a slight, yet noticeable, warming alcohol effect. A great match for this time of year as warm summer nights begin to cool off with fall on the horizon. Be warned, this is one of those beers that tastes like a second one.
