Introducing Wee Heavy, the 24th release under out limited run 174 Taproom Series and the first of 2021.

Tracing back to 18th century Scotland, Wee Heavy is the strongest of the traditional Scotch Ale styles, characterized by substantial malt influenced flavours.  Traditionally coming in at upwards of 9.0% ABV, it was typically served in small or “wee” measures.

Our version clocks in a 7.4%; pouring a deep caramel colour with a medium tan head.  Aromas and flavours of caramel, toffee, honey, dried fruits and a subtle smokiness lead to a medium to full bodied liquid with a restrained bitterness, and a lingering alcohol finish.  This malty and complex winter slayer benefits from warming up slightly after pouring.  “Now’s the day and now’s the hour” to get yourself stocked up for Robbie Burns Day, January 25th.
