Re-introducing our newest seasonal release, Festbier, a graduate from our limited run 174 Taproom Series.

Festbier is another term for Oktoberfestbier (aka Oktoberfest), the latter being reserved exclusively for breweries within Munich’s city limits (think Champagne vs sparkling wine). It gained its reference as the official modern style consumed the biggest beer festival in the world dating back to 1810. Back then Märzen was the liquid of choice which evolved over time into Oktoberfest as festival goers were looking for a beer that still offered a malt forward profile but was lighter in body and more session-able.

Our version is pours brilliant deep yellow in colour with a fine white head, offering rich aromas and flavours of doughy bread, and slight sweetness derived from the German Munich, Vienna and Pilsner malts, balanced by a light hop character that delivers a medium body with a crisp finish and soft warming alcohol effect from the 6.1% ABV.

Pairs perfectly with traditional German fare and sweater weather.
